Auckland Regionals 2011 - 1st Place

Since becoming a member of Sorority I have improved HEAPS. Parris and the ReQuest girls have taught me so much in such a short space of time. I have been to my first Regionals and Nationals, worked harder than I ever have in 3 months, and I now believe in myself as an actual Hip Hop dancer.

When I heard our name “Sorority” called for “first place” at the National Hip Hop Championships I immediately felt relieved, excited and grateful. I think because this is my first year in a crew competing at Regionals and Nationals etc, I was slightly intimidated by other crews more so than other members of Sorority. I was a newbie that didn’t know how everything worked, but I still had a lot of faith in Sorority, knowing that we’d worked harder, trained for longer, and sacrificed sleep for this. And it all pad off, and now we’re going to Worlds!

Going to Las Vegas to compete in the International Hip Hop Championships 2011 with Sorority will be an amazing experience for me and the crew. Meeting with hundreds of people from around the world that all share the same passion for dance will be unbelievable. I’m counting the days until we go!

A song that I can listen to over and over again is...
DOWN by Jason Walker. It’s one of my favourite songs.

The person I most admire in my life is…
My best friend Alix. We met at Intermediate on my first day at school in NZ nearly 3 years ago, and she is honestly the best friend that I have ever had. She’s a genuinely lovely person who wouldn’t hurt a fly, she puts up with me talking about dance CONSTANTLY, and I’m just lucky to have her around.

My favourite takeaway meal is...
Chicken Tikka Masala. It’s an Indian curry, the Patak’s one is the best.
It’s A M A Z I N G.

This time next year I would like to...
Be a Varsity World Champion! And still be in Sorority =)

The chore that I absolutely don’t like to do is…
I love all styles, but if I would have to choose a least favourite, it would probably be Swag. It’s not because I don’t enjoy it, but because I don’t think I look good doing it. Especially if you put me next to Kyra the Swag Queen! =P But I’m improving. =)
